Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) has achieved a significant milestone as it reopened its extensively renovated and expanded Terminal 2 (T2) after three and a half years of construction. This momentous event signifies the airport’s return to full four-terminal operations and is aligned with expectations of a recovery to pre-pandemic passenger numbers in 2024. The T2 expansion project has been instrumental in boosting the airport’s capacity by an additional five million passengers annually, pushing Changi Airport’s total annual handling capacity to a substantial 90 million passengers.

An innovative addition to T2 is the new early baggage storage system, which operates entirely in an automated fashion and is equipped to handle up to 2,400 bags.
