The United Arab Emirates has revised its policy for Nigeria Travellers putting an end to the disagreement over their insistence on Nigerians taking Rapid Antigen Test 4-hours before boarding any inbound flights to the U.A.E. This antigen test requirement was against Nigeria’s policy that passengers travelling out of the country should conduct Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test 72-hours before their flight. The disagreement between Nigeria and the U.A.E. resulted in the ban of flight from the two countries.
On 19 June, the U.A.E. Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai announced updates on travel protocols for inbound passengers from South Africa, Nigeria and India, which takes effect from Wednesday 23 June 2021.
The announcement released stated thus:

- Passengers from Nigeria must present a negative PCR test result taken 48-hours before departure. UAE citizens are exempted from this requirement.
- The negative PCR test certificate should carry a QR code and the test must have been conducted by labs approved by the Nigerian government.

- Only passengers with a valid residence visa who have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine are allowed to travel to Dubai.
- They should also present a negative test certificate from a PCR test taken 48-hours before departure. UAE nationals are exempted from this requirement.
